How to Change Cave Brightness for Admins on Your Rust Server

Changing cave brightness for admins on your Rust server is extremely simple. This guide explains how to instantly change the brightness of caves for better visibility, for yourself only, on your server.

⚠️ Important Information: This change is client-side, which means that the brightness of the cave will change ONLY for you and not for any other player or admin on the server.

Steps

  1. Connect to your server as explained in the relevant guide.
  2. After connecting, make sure you have admin rights. If not, follow the relevant guide on how to assign them.
  3. Press your F1 key to open the F1 Console.
  4. In the command line, type the command debug.ambientvolumes false.
  5. Hit the Enter key, and the cave will appear brighter.

To restore brightness, simply replace false with true on the command mentioned in step 4.
