How to Transfer Your Single-Player World to Your Minecraft Server

Transferring your single-player world to your Minecraft server is a straightforward process. This guide walks you through uploading your single-player world to your DazcoHost server.

1) Locate Your Save Folder

  1. Press the keys Windows + R, type %AppData%\.minecraft\saves, and hit Enter.
  2. Find the world you want to transfer and note its folder name (this is the same as the map name).
  3. Compress the world folder into a .zip file.

2) Upload the World to Your Server

  1. Connect to your server via FTP/SFTP as explained in the relevant guide.
  2. Upload the .zip file to the server.
  3. In the file manager page, right-click the uploaded .zip file and select Unarchive.
  4. (Optional) Delete the .zip file from both your local and server storage after extraction.
⚠️ Warning: Ensure the world name has no spaces or special characters.
Example: Original: Example's World → Renamed: Examples_World

3) Set the World in Server Properties

  1. Open the server.properties file.
  2. Find the line that mentions level-name=world.
  3. Change world to match your uploaded world's folder name. Renamed example: level-name=Examples_World.
  4. Click Save Content when done.
  5. Restart the server and your single-player world should now be loaded.
